8.20.010 - Restriction on the discharge and sale of consumer fireworks.

The discharge and sale of fireworks within the town of Naches is prohibited with the exception of at the Upper Valley Sports Complex located on U.S. Highway 12, which may host a fireworks display once over the July 4th weekend, and once over the New Year's weekend. Any vendor may apply for a permit to sell fireworks under the same procedure as found in Section 8.20.020 during those events.

8.20.020 - Petition to discharge or sell fireworks.

Any party may apply for a permit to discharge or sell fireworks for other community events. Permits for the discharge or sale of fireworks shall not be issued for property within the R-1 or R-2 zoning districts. Applications for fireworks permits must be received at least thirty (30) days prior to the event, and the application shall be placed on the agenda of the next regularly-scheduled town council meeting after the application is filed. The town council shall determine at the town council meeting whether issuing a fireworks discharge or sale permit for the community event is appropriate, and any terms and conditions that are necessary for the permit. The permit application shall indicate the time, place, and duration of the discharge or sale, all of which shall be subject to council approval.
