Chapter 12.08 - STREET AND SIDEWALK OBSTRUCTIONS

12.08.020 - Obstructing streets or sidewalks prohibited.

12.08.010 - Definition.

The word "person" so used in this chapter shall include natural persons of either sex, associations, copartnerships and corporations, whether acting in their own capacity or by servant, agent or employee.

12.08.020 - Obstructing streets or sidewalks prohibited.

A. It is unlawful for any person to place or cause or suffer to be placed any goods, wares, clothing, merchandise, produce or food products, boxes, barrels or other obstruction of any kind on any sidewalk or crosswalk in front of or alongside of his or her place of business, for the purpose of display or for any other purpose, except while actually in the course of receipt or delivery or to use any portion of any sidewalk for the purpose of displaying, selling, measuring, packing or weighing any article or thing whatsoever for sale.

B. It is unlawful for any person to cause any street or alley to be blockaded or obstructed in any manner by allowing vehicles, wagons or other obstructions to remain in the street and such obstructions shall be removed upon notice given to the offender by the mayor or his/her designee.

12.08.025 - Parking restrictions.

It is unlawful to park and/or leave a motor vehicle on Naches Avenue in the town of Naches from 2:30 a.m. to 6:15 a.m., from Monday midnight through Friday midnight of each week. Violation of this section shall constitute a civil infraction and shall be punishable by a penalty in the amount of twenty dollars ($20.00). Each separate day a vehicle is parked or left in violation of this section shall constitute a separate violation.

12.08.030 - Violation—Penalty.

Any person convicted of violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be punished by a fine in any sum not exceeding one thousand dollars ($1,000.00), or by imprisonment not exceeding ninety (90) days or by both such fine and imprisonment.
